A foz do Amazonas em 2025: cenários de risco, ecocídio e implicações para a resiliência regional em contexto de COP 30

A Bacia da Foz do Amazonas, um dos mais importantes e complexos ecossistemas do planeta, caracteriza-se por sua megabiodiversidade e pela singularidade de ambientes que interagem a água doce do rio com o oceano Atlântico (Moura et al., 2016). É neste cenário de complexidade e riqueza de fauna e flora, características vitais para o equilíbrio climático global e para a subsistência de diversas comunidades tradicionais que se projeta a iminente exploração, patrocinada pelo governo brasileiro, de petróleo e gás. A discussão sobre os riscos socioambientais inerentes a essa investida ambiental predatória transcende a mera análise das possíveis consequências, aproximando-se de um potencial ecocídio (Higgins, 2013), com profundas implicações e dificuldades para a resiliência ecológica e social da região amazônica no ano de 2025.
